At their most recent school board meeting, the Highland School District accepted a bid for the installation of their LED lighting. According to Business Manager Sue Rich, the school approved a contract with Ace Electric in the amount of $104,612. The business will install the lights in the three buildings in the Highland district. Rich believes work on the project will begin as soon as they decide which building to start with, which she assumes will be the building in most dire need of the upgrade. The project was funded in part by a $35,000 grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation. The bid price includes the cost of the lights and the installation.
