No. 1 Iowa City Regina came away with a win over the Highland Huskies in class 1A district action Friday night 36-0.

The Regals mixed up the offense with Isaac Vollstedt scoring first on an eight yard run, putting Regina up 8-0 after the two point conversion. Quarterback Michael Conlon scored on a quarterback sneak on Regina’s next possession to make the score 15-0. With 90 seconds to play in the first the Regals went to the air with Conlon finding Jack Jensen on a nine yard scoring strike to extend the lead to 22-0 after one quarter. Late in the first half Jacob Phillips found pay dirt to put Regina up 29-0 and the Regals would put one more touchdown on the board with a 15 yard touchdown pass from Conlon to Trae Rogers before the halftime whistle, putting Regina up 36-0 at the break. The Huskies were able to dig in defensively in the second half and not allow anymore points to the Regals, but Highland struggled to get anything going offensively against the Regal defense and the running clock. With the loss Highland falls to 2-3 on the season and travels to Van Buren Friday.
