The Annual Kalona Historical Village Fall Festival was this past weekend, and Director Nancy Roth believes the weather hampered the festivities. The rain took away from the foot traffic they typically have on Friday morning, and didn’t let up until around noon. Roth believes people’s spirits were also dampened as a result. However, once the weather cleared up, she said the rest of Friday and Saturday were a success.

Additionally, she feels their attendance numbers weren’t as high as they had been in years past because of flooding issues to the north. She said they normally get a lot of traffic from the north, and she feels potential attendees may have been helping with flood prevention. In spite of everything that went wrong with the weather, Roth feels people had a good time, and she was thankful for the efforts of those that helped run the festival.
