The first weeks of college have been filled with cross country races for recent Washington graduate Emme Keith. Keith, a freshman at Indian Hills Community College, has run three races for the Warriors this fall.

Keith’s collegiate running career began August 29 in the Region XI time trials in Mason City. She captured an 18th place finish, clocking her six kilometer race in 23:20. The Warriors competed September 5 in the 4k Yellowjacket Open, hosted by Graceland University. Keith finished 11th overall, posting a time of 18:01. Indian Hills competed against several four-year institutions in Grinnell September 12th in the Les Duke Invitational. Keith concluded the 6k race in 28:26, the 66th best finish.

Keith’s high school career featured back-to-back all-conference honors her junior and senior seasons. She signed a letter of intent in December to run cross country and dance at Indian Hills.

The Warriors will leave Iowa for their next race, traveling to Rock Island, IL, September 23 for the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College.
