The undefeated season for the No. 5 Lone Tree Lions football team (5-0 overall) continued Friday in front of a homecoming crowd. The Lions scored a season-high 81 points in a shutout victory over the winless English Valleys Bears (0-4 overall).

Jovonte Squiers showed off his versatility, racking up 189 yards of total offense (70 rush, 37 receiving, 82 return yards) and six touchdowns (three rush). Quarterback Trey Pierson completed all five of his passes for 88 yards and two scores. Thirteen Lion athletes recorded at least one rushing attempt on homecoming and seven rushed for more than 10 yards.

The Lions’ defense posted their second shutout of the season, forcing three turnovers. Lone Tree made seven tackles for loss, including three sacks.

The victory is the fifth straight to begin the season for Lone Tree. The Lions are off this week, and will return to the gridiron September 30 versus the WACO Warriors (2-3 overall) in Wayland.
