The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team opened the River Valley Conference season Tuesday night hosting the Durant Wildcats.

Durant came away with a win by scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-17 and 25-23. The loss is the first of the year for the Golden Hawks who opened the year winning the Keota tournament and beating Washington.

Mid-Prairie was led in the match by Jaedynn Evans with 26 kills. Evans was also best on the team defensively with 41 digs. Clarice Murphy finished with 31 assists. With the loss the Hawks are now 4-1 on the year, they will next be in action Thursday when they host Monticello.
