Emergency crews, including a Med Force helicopter, responded to a motorcycle wreck on Highway 218 Thursday afternoon. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the wreck happened at 2:20 p.m. near mile marker 38, a couple of miles south of Mt. Pleasant. A motorcycle operated by 61-year-old Bruce Grove of Port Orange, Florida, was in the northbound lanes of the highway, left the roadway onto the gravel shoulder and lost control. The motorcycle came to rest in the highway median. Grove was taken by helicopter to the University of Iowa hospital. Henry County Sheriff’s Office, rescue and a DOT officer responded to the scene.
