The Highland School District recently had a retro-commissioning study performed on the three buildings in the district, the purpose of which was the assessment of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, or HVAC systems. Business Manager Sue Rich said the study took a look at the buildings’ boilers, heating, air conditioning, and lighting, in order to see where the district’s biggest concerns lay. Now that they have the initial report, the school is putting together a building committee that includes both board members and selected members of the community. The committee will decide how best to move forward and which projects to tackle. Rich felt the study was beneficial, and will help the district save money and simultaneously create a better environment for students.
