Facilities in the Washington School District are seeing two projects approaching completion. Washington Community School District Superintendent Jeff Dicks spoke of the Stewart Elementary expansion and the new auditorium attached to the high school at the recent school board meeting. Speaking of the new preschool and daycare addition at Stewart he said, they’ve had a few setbacks, but nothing substantial. He added they’re still looking at being in the new wing of Stewart Elementary School around Thanksgiving.

The auditorium is almost finished and the community will have a chance to do walk-through tours on September 25th, with the grand opening on October 9th. Currently, they’re waiting for the fire marshal’s final approval.
