Area students will be able to get a bird’s-eye view of Washington this fall. The Washington Municipal Airport is hosting it’s annual Iowa Aviation Youth Camp Saturday, October 1st and registration is now being accepted. Mike Maxted, manager of the airport, tells KCII the event is “a lot of fun with education sprinkled in.” There will be paper airplane contests, movies, history, an airplane simulator and of course, flights over Washington. Airplane rides will be provided by the Experimental Aircraft Association out of Cedar Rapids.

There is space for about 45 area sixth-grade students. Questions about the camp should be directed to the airport (319) 461-0359.
