A lack of players on the opposing team has forced the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves (1-3 overall) to cancel tonight’s homecoming football game. Winfield-Mount Union superintendent Jeff Maeder told KCII Sports that the Danville Bears notified the district Tuesday of their numbers issues, causing them to forfeit the contest.

Maeder says today’s homecoming activities will take place as scheduled. The Wolves football team is scheduled to play next Friday at Lynnville-Sully (3-0 overall).
