The fourth race of the season will send the Washington Demon cross country teams to Fort Madison today. The Bloodhound annual cross country meet is being held at Fort Madison’s Rodeo Park and features runners from Burlington, Central Lee, Clark County (Missouri), Columbus, Danville, Fairfield, Harmony, Holy Trinity, Illini West, Keokuk, Mediapolis, Mount Pleasant, Burlington Notre Dame, Van Buren, Wapello, West Hancock and Winfield-Mount Union.

The latest race for the Demon cross country squads was last Thursday — the Fairfield Invitational at Waterworks Park. Sophomore Claire Horak posted Washington’s best time in the girls’ race, placing seventh overall with a time of 20:57. Junior Brennan Horak came away with Washington’s top time in the boys’ race, finishing 12th overall with a time of 18:15.

The first races of the Fort Madison Invitational are set to begin at 5 p.m. at Rodeo Park.
