Low participation numbers has forced the cancellation of two upcoming freshman football games for the Washington Demons. The Keokuk Chiefs and the Fort Madison Bloodhounds have informed Washington of their low numbers in football, stating they won’t have enough athletes for a freshman game this season. Freshman games are played on Fridays before the varsity teams take the field.

Washington is the host school for both games, and has decided to move kickoff of the varsity game up 30 minutes to 7 p.m. The Keokuk Chiefs (2-0 overall) are the Demons’ homecoming opponent on September 30. Washington closes out their regular season schedule versus the Fort Madison Bloodhounds (0-2 record) on October 21.
