The Mid-Prairie boys and girls cross country teams hosted the River Valley Conference Championship meet Thursday night at the Iowa City Kickers Complex in Iowa City. The Mid-Prairie boys brought home a conference championship for the first time in school history with their team score of 39 points. Second place was Bellevue with 92 points. Individually, Mid-Prairie’s top finishers went 2-3-4 overall, led by RVC runner up Peyton Miller with a time of 16:36.43. Zach Pettit took third, Floyd Evans fourth, Quinn Schmidt 11th, Marshal Teets 19th, Andrew Schwartz 21st, Brent Foster 23rd, Miles Burrows 43rd, Samson Kimani 51st, Spencer Yutzy 74th, Kyle Miller 79th, David Fleming 86th, Camden Marner 100th, Hunter Eden 115th, Austin Bontrager 122nd, Elmir Ganibegovic 127th, Dallas Miler 130th, Jack DeRycke 140th, Eli Van Roekel 150th, Levi Stultz 153rd and Ethan Hall 158th.

On the girls side the Golden Hawks finished as team runner up with their score of 91 points. Monticello took the team championship with their score of 35. Anna Hostetler brought home the individual conference title for the Hawks, winning the race in 17:42. Marie Hostetler was conference runner up with her time of 18:05.

Other Mid-Prairie girls finishers included Greta Schmidt 27th, Abbagail Evans 29th, Kessa Jones 33rd, Kyleigh Graham 43rd, Abby Tornow 46th, Moriah Brase 49th, Shelby Zahradnek 55th, Kate Cavanagh 64th, Sophia Norman 66th, Aubrey Chmeler 72nd, Kitty Conway 105th, Hannah Glick 120th, and Marina Richardson 126th.

The Mid-Prairie girls overall record is now 64-10, the Mid-Prairie boys stand at 86-6 on the year. They will both be in action October 20th at Pella in the state qualifier meet.
