The No. 6 in class 3A Clear Creek Amana Clippers had their first set back of the season Friday night falling to the Marion Indians on the road 15-14 in overtime.

The Indians jumped out to an early lead at  7-0 as Trevor Paulsen found the end zone from one yard out on a quarterback sneak putting the Indians up on their first possession. CCA would answer right before the halftime horn with a Cade Gallagher one yard touchdown run to make it 7-7 going to the break. The defenses continued to dictate the game in regulation with neither team finding the scoreboard before the extra frame.

In the overtime period CCA scored first on an Ashton Carpenter two yard touchdown run, Tyreke Williams’ extra point make it 14-7. Marion answered with an Owen Carstensen six yard touchdown run to pull within one and the Indians went for the win with a two point conversion. The pass was tipped in the end zone and hauled in by tight end Grant Meth for the win. With the victory Marion improves to 5-2 on the year. Clear Creek Amana falls to 6-1.
