The undefeated Clear Creek Amana football team looks to stay perfect this week when they make a road trip to Marion to take on the Indians.

CCA comes into the matchup ranked No. 6 in the state in class 3A with a 6-0 overall record, their best start in school history. Last week they beat No. 5 West Delaware 30-14. On the season the Clippers are led by Ashton Carpenter through the air. He is 23 of 44 for 222 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. His favorite target is Cory Siders with 10 grabs for 92 yards and a touchdown. On the ground Matt Brimeyer and Jared Eckrich have combined for 852 yards and 10 touchdowns on 140 carries. The Clipper defense is in the top 10 in 3A with 14 takeaways this year. The CCA scoring defense is 10th in the state allowing just six points per game.

Marion is 4-2 on the season and fighting for a playoff spot. Last week the Indians scored an important 28-26 win over Center Point-Urbana. Trevor Paulsen had a big night through the air going 13 for 20 for 213 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Blair Brooks caught five passes for 77 yards and two scores. Owen Carstensen had 18 carries for 103 yards in the game. On the year Marion is led by Paulsen who is 29 of 46 for 429 yards for five touchdowns and three interceptions. His favorite target is Brooks with 19 catches for 314 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground Carstensen has 584 yards and four touchdowns on 97 carries.

These two teams last met in 2013 with the Clippers winning 21-7. Action begins Friday night at 7:30 at Marion High School.
