Iowa’s harvest of the corn crop is about one week behind average with 33% of corn for grain out of the fields. According to this week’s crop progress report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, southeast Iowa is leading the state with 51% of corn harvested. Currently corn is rated at 14% fair, 57% good and 25% excellent.

So far, across the state 62% of soybeans have been harvested and in southeast Iowa 52% of soybeans have been harvested, behind the five-year average of 74%.
