The volleyball season continues tonight in Henry County for the Washington Demons (2-17 overall). Washington continues the second half of their Southeast Conference schedule in Mount Pleasant, squaring off against the Panthers (14-11 overall). This marks the third meeting this season between the teams with Mount Pleasant winning the previous two matches in straight sets.

Washington earned their first league victory last Tuesday at home versus the Keokuk Chiefs (1-18 overall), winning in straights sets (25-8, 25-21, 25-12). The Demons recorded 35 kills in the victory. Liv Postl led the way with nine kills, while Alexis Turner and Isabel Bailey had eight kills apiece. Megan Mitchell facilitated on a season-high 27 points, and Morgan Brinning topped the team with seven digs.

Mount Pleasant looks to end a five-match losing streak tonight. Mikayla Beason tops the Panthers’ lineup with 102 kills, the sixth most in the Southeast Conference. Ashlee Menke ranks second in the league with 378 assists. Dani Broeker’s 203 digs is the third most recorded in the conference.

The varsity match is set to serve at 7 p.m. tonight at Mount Pleasant High School.
