The Marching Demon Nation traveled to Pella over the weekend and competed in the Iowa High School Music Association State Marching Band Festival. The band was led by drum majors Meredith Raber and Jessie Buchholz and performed their show about the ancient Greek battle of Thermopylae. The Marching Demon Nation received a Division II overall rating at the contest in Class 3A.

Mid-Prairie and Highland each had their bands take part in Class 2A. The Golden Hawks received a Division I rating, the highest rating possible, and the Huskies received a Division II rating.
