The Festival of the Pumpkins is returning to the Washington Public Library this month. The event is now in it’s third year and director of the library, Debbie Stanton, explains community members of all ages are welcome to paint or decorate a pumpkin. She adds many people create favorite characters or literary references, but they don’t have to be. They do not accept carved pumpkins. The pumpkins can be brought in beginning next Thursday and will be displayed throughout the month. The kid winner will be lead Trick-or-Treat around the square for Halloween.
