The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls cross country teams are in Fort Dodge Saturday for the class 2A state cross country meet.

The Mid-Prairie boys qualified for the state meet as a team, winning the state qualifier meet championship for the second straight year last week in Pella. The Golden Hawk boys are ranked third in class 2A in the final cross country rankings for 2016. Mid-Prairie has two ranked runners on the roster with junior Peyton Miller checking in at No. 13 and junior Zach Pettit at No. 14. The Golden Hawk boys have a 99-6 record on the year.

The Mid-Prairie girls are No. 4 in the state in class 2A entering today’s action. They earned a state berth by bringing home the state qualifier meet championship last week in Pella. The Golden Hawk girls have two ranked runners including No. 1 in class 2A Anna Hostetler who has won every race this season, and No. 2 Marie Hostetler, her sister who has finished runner up in each race this season. The Mid-Prairie girls are 76-10 entering today.
