The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls cross country teams are in action tonight at the River Valley Conference Cross Country meet at the Iowa City Kickers Complex in Iowa City.

The Mid-Prairie boys enter tonight’s meet ranked No. 3 in class 2A with an overall record of 75-6 this year. In their last meet, the Golden Hawks finished fourth out of 23 teams at the North Linn Invitational Saturday. Mid-Prairie is led on the year by Peyton Miller who is ranked eighth in the latest class 2A individual rankings and Zach Pettit who is 12th. In the boys race ranked teams joining Mid-Prairie include No. 9 in class 1A Bellevue, No 13 in class 2A Tipton and No. 17 in class 2A Monticello. The boys field boasts five ranked runners.

The Mid-Prairie girls enter tonight’s meet ranked No. 4 in class 2A with an overall record of 54-9. In their last meet, the Golden Hawks finished third out of 19 teams at the North Linn Invitational Saturday. The Hawks are led on the year by Anna Hostetler who is ranked first in the latest class 2A individual rankings. Marie Hostetler is ranked third in the state individually. Ranked teams joining Mid-Prairie in the field include No. 1 in class 2A Monticello, No. 11 in class 2A Cascade, No. 13 in class 2A Iowa City Regina and No. 17 in class 2A North Cedar. The girls race has a total of 10 ranked runners.

Action begins tonight at 4:30 in Iowa City.
