The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team hits the road for the second straight week tonight when they travel to Goose Lake to battle the Northeast Rebels.

Mid-Prairie enters tonight’s game with a 2-4 overall record following a 46-0 loss last week at Williamsburg. On the year Mid-Prairie is led through the air by Karson Gingerich who is 39 of 83 for 483 yards five touchdowns and three interceptions. The Golden Hawks will be without leading receiver Levi Duwa for the remainder of the season following surgery on his injured foot Wednesday. On the ground Mid-Prairie is led by Ricky Vargas with 630 yards on 94 carries with eight touchdowns. Duncan McCain leads the Mid-Prairie defense with 33 total tackles this year.

Northeast enters tonight’s game with an overall record of 1-5. The Rebels got their first win of the season last week, beating Camanche 14-0. On the season Northeast is led by Nate Lange through the air, he is 115 for 194 for 1,384 yards, second most in the state, seven touchdowns and eight interceptions. His favorite target is Dawson Stoll with 33 catches for 542 yards, third most in the state, and four touchdowns. Corey Buech leads the Rebels on the ground with 60 carries for 120 yards and one touchdown. Northeast has rushed for the eighth fewest total yards in the state in class 2A.
