Farmers are putting in long days to harvest crops and cut hay. Meaghan Anderson, field agronomist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, tells KCII that she’s hearing a lot of variability in corn yields. Although, overall most are happy with yields in the low to mid-200s. East and north of Washington County Anderson is receiving reports of corn yields as low as the 160s to 170s bushels per acre, where fields were affected by wind during the summer. In regards to soybeans, the yields aren’t as high as last year’s but are in the low 60’s to low 70’s.
