The postseason run for the Highland Huskies volleyball team (21-11 overall) will begin tonight. The Huskies host the Louisa-Muscatine Falcons (1-22 overall) in the Class 2A Region 8 opener. The teams met three times during the regular season with Highland winning each match in straight sets.

Highland tallied more than 20 wins for the second straight season. Sophomore Aly Stokes is the squad’s top offensive player. Stokes, the KCII Hedge Above Lawncare Athlete of the Week on September 21, has a team-best 160 kills and 36 aces. Senior Kelsey Hora ranks third in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North with 314 digs. Junior Murphy Beinhart has assisted on 198 points, the seventh most in the league.

Louisa-Muscatine has recorded one win in 23 regular season matches. Senior Bailey Downing tops the Falcons with 117 assists and her 96 digs ranks second to Alexa Wehrle (132).

First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Highland High School.
