The Iowa Mennonite School cross country team will host their second home meet of the year tonight at the Wellman Golf Course.

Their first home meet of the season was the IMS Early Bird held on their campus. Last time IMS was in action they ran Thursday at the City High Bud Williams Invitational held at the Iowa City Kickers Complex. The IMS boys placed third out of four teams with their score of 82 points, City High won the meet with 15 points. Jacob Boller was the top finisher, taking 32nd in a time of 20:26. Other finishers included Cameron Roser-Peet 44th, Juan Andino 48th, Seth Danga 56th, Micah Miller 70th and Jesse Slater 93rd. The IMS girls did not  have enough runners for a team score. They were led by Calli Shaw in 14th with a time of 23:53. Other finishers included Serena Gerber 50th, Greta Schrag 59th and Ainsley Shaw 69th.

Mid-Prairie will also run tonight at the Wellman Golf Course, which also serves as their home course. The Golden Hawks enter tonight’s action after wins by both the boys and girls at the Clipper Cross Country Invitational in North Liberty. The Golden Hawk boys are ranked fifth in the state in class 2A with the girls rated ninth. The Mid-Prairie boys have Peyton Miller and Floyd Evans both ranked in the individual poll in class 2A at eighth and 14th respectively while the Mid-Prairie girls have Anna and Marie Hostetler rated first and third in 2A.

The varsity races will begin at around 5:30 tonight at the Wellman Golf Course.
