A member of the Keota Eagles cross country team came away with a top two finish at Tuesday’s Washington Cross Country Invitational. Turner Klein was the second runner to cross the finish line in the boys’ race, clocking a season-best time of 17:53.93. Fort Madison’s Aaron Steffensmeier won the race, crossing the finish line in 16:35.04.

Klein has finished in the top 10 of each race he’s competed in this year, including three top five finishes in the last four races. He also placed second at the BGM Cross Country meet on September 19, crossing the finish line in 18:53.4.

Klein and the Keota Eagle cross country runners will return to competition Monday, taking part in the Mike Jay Invitational hosted by Columbus Community Schools.
