The Lone Tree Lady Lion volleyball team handled Iowa Mennonite School Tuesday night at home in the first round of the class 1A regional playoffs in straight sets.

The Lady Lions took the match by scores of 26-24, 25-23, and 25-23.

Each set was back and forth with Lone Tree jumping out to a 10-3 lead in set one before IMS cut it to 15-13 and forced a time out. In game two IMS jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Lone Tree rallied back to get the two point win. In set three Lone Tree again ran out to a 9-2 lead before IMS got within 9-8 and the Lady Lions scored six straight to take back control and close out the win.

With the loss IMS ends their season at 10-17, Lone Tree improves to 13-13 and will travel to Belle Plaine to match up with Belle Plaine. The Plainswomen beat HLV three games to one in their first round match last night.
