It was another dominate performance for the No. 4 Lone Tree Lion football team (7-0 overall) last night. The Lions welcomed the Easton Valley Riverhawks (2-5 overall) to Lone Tree for a district battle. The Lions sent the Riverhawks back to Preston with a 73-14 loss.

Lone Tree tallied 352 yards of total offense including 321 rushing yards. Quarterback Trey Pierson accounted for 111 yards of total offense (80 rushing) and one rushing touchdown. Drake Hotz ran for 111 yards and a score. Garrett Boxwell found the endzone three times and amassed 64 yards rushing. Sam Fuhrmeister, Matthew Selck, and Aaron Slaughter record one rushing touchdown apiece.

The Lions’ defense forced four turnovers, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. Jovonte Squiers returned a fumble recovery two yards for a defensive touchdown.

Lone Tree improve their record to 7-0 overall for the first time in school history. The Lions continue their season next week in Marengo, battling the Iowa Valley Tigers (4-2 overall) in a district matchup.
