The handicapped camping pad at Marr Park is one step closer to completion after the cement for the parking spot was poured and cured recently. Park Ranger Jayce Horning said the parking area for the site is ready to go, but they want to finish the rest of the work before they allow anyone to park on it. The final stage of work will begin within the next week, and Horning explains it will be to pour the cement for the 12x16x6 patio area, which will also include a fire ring. On the south side of the pad, they will pave up to the utilities site which includes the electrical pedestal and the water spigot, making everything wheelchair accessible.

Horning hopes the cement will be poured next week, though they will have the pads framed before then. Once it’s poured, the cement takes a week to cure. Optimistically, Horning thinks the site could be ready for use within the next two weeks, depending on cooperation from the weather.
