With about three weeks until Election Day, over 400 people have already cast their ballots in Washington County. Sue Meeks, elections administrator for the county, tells KCII News that 2,124 people have requested ballots early, and 409 of those have been at the counter of the auditor’s office. In the 2008 general election Washington County had about 3,000 absentee votes cast and four years ago that increased to about 5,000, according to county auditor Dan Widmer.

To vote early, residents can go to the auditor’s office and vote in person, or you may request a ballot be mailed to you, which you then fill out and mail back in to the auditor’s office. Election Day is November 8th, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., listen to KCII that evening for live results from the Washington County Courthouse.
