A section of 290th Street in Washington County is closed to thru traffic for road work. According to the Washington County Engineer’s Office, it is closed at a small stream about 1/8th of a mile east of Larch Avenue while crews replace a reinforced concrete box culvert. Also, the road will be re-graded for about 250-feet on each side of the culvert to correct slopes and improve drainage. The cost of the project is just under $156,000 and is being done by Iowa Bridge and Culvert, L.C. Of Washington. Local construction dollars are paying for the project south of Washington.
