Washington County 4-H and FFA members have a chance to show a calf at the county fair in July by partnering with a local beef producer in December. The Washington County share-a-calf program is now accepting applications for interested students. Through students partnering with a producer, they learn about breed, feed and grooming. Also, students don’t have to pay for the calf until after it is sold at the county fair in July. The champion share-a-calf will be part of the Grand Champion drive during the fair and they can compete in the carcass and showmanship classes. Applications are due November 1st to the Washington County Extension Office.
