Another potent rushing performance helped the Sigourney-Keota Cobras football team (7-1 overall) to another victory last night. The Cobras traveled to Louisa County for a district battle against the Wapello Indians (5-3 overall). Sigourney-Keota rushed for 488 yards in a 40-12 triumph.

Running back Carson Crawford led the Cobras rushing attack, recording 209 yards and two touchdowns. Avery Moore accounted for 163 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Quarterback Luke Greiner added 115 yards and one touchdown. Greiner completed four of his 10 pass attempts for 30 yards and one score.

Wapello quarterback Logan Belzer completed 10 of 23 pass attempts for 203 yards and two touchdowns. Wideout Logan Mears made three catches for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The win improves Sigourney-Keota to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in district play. The Cobras will finish up their regular season schedule in Sigourney Friday, hosting the Wilton Beavers.
