St. James in Washington is celebrating a milestone this month. The school is marking its 150th year. St. James Elementary principal Beth McBride says they’re going to have a special visitor Friday with Bishop Amos rededicating the school. He’ll also lead mass. St. James began teaching students in Washington in 1866 and the school building was constructed in 1876. Throughout the school year students and staff are honoring the 150th year with themed recognitions each month including 150 years of history in October, 150 resolutions in January and 150 acts from the heart in February. The school currently holds classes for preschool through fifth grade students.
