Entries in the 2015 Festival of Pumpkins. Photo by Sally Y. Hart

Charlie Brown, Curious George, Cinderella’s carriage and a football all have one thing in common at the Washington Public Library – they’re all made out of pumpkins. The library’s annual Festival of the Pumpkins is underway and director Debbie Stanton invites anyone in the community to take part. They accept any painted or decorated pumpkins, but they cannot be carved. Stanton adds many entries are book-themed but they don’t have to be. They’re accepting decorated pumpkins through Wednesday (10/26). The kid winner will lead Trick-or-Treat around the square on Halloween night.
