High school musicians from all around Iowa auditioned at several locations on Saturday, for the chance to be among the few selected for the All-State Music Festival, and two area students are among those chosen. The annual festival is organized by the Iowa High School Music Association, and students can be selected to the vocal, orchestra, or band ensembles. Kaya Zdan, a student in Mid-Prairie’s home school assistance program, was selected for the orchestra ensemble as a second violin. Rylie Shettler, a student at Sigourney High School, was selected for the vocal ensemble as a second Soprano. The All-State Music Festival is in Ames from November 17th – 19th, with the concert on the 19th at Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State University campus.
