This summer’s realignment of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference divisions made it difficult for the WACO Warriors volleyball team (14-14 overall) to continue longstanding rivalries with multiple schools. The Warriors were chosen in a vote of league schools to join the south division, giving each branch of the conference nine members. One of the rivalries affected by the change was with Winfield-Mount Union (13-17). WACO and Winfield-Mount Union schools are separated by fewer than 15 miles. The rivalry will renew this week on the volleyball court in the opener of the Class 1A District 8 bracket.
