Rainy conditions are expected in Washington to start the week. According to the National Weather Service, Washington has observed about 1.2 inches of rain in the first nine days of the month, slightly above normal. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, only 4.93% of Iowa is abnormally dry. The dry area includes Wapello, Davis, Monroe, Appanoose, Lucas and Wayne counties in south central Iowa.

Temperatures have also been above normal in Washington, with the average observed at 60.1 degrees while normal is 56 degrees. Temperatures are forecasted to fall late in the week, with highs in the 50’s on Thursday. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
