The postseason run for the Washington Demon volleyball team (3-23) was short lived. The Demons opened the Class 4A Region 8 tournament last week in Eldridge against the North Scott Lancers (11-19). The Lancers sent the Demons into the offseason with a straight loss (15-25, 8-25, 19-25).

Washington recorded 19 kills in the loss. Senior Alexis Turner led the team with five kills and posted a serve efficiency of 100 percent (5-5) in her final high school volleyball match. Junior Megan Mitchell assisted on 11 points, while Kylee Porter tallied a team-best nine digs.

The Demons’ season ends with a record of 3-23 overall. Washington loses Turner, Liv Postl and Jessie Buchholz to graduation.
