The postseason run for the Washington Demon volleyball team (2-18 overall) will begin later this month in northeast Iowa. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) recently released the postseason volleyball assignments for all classes. The Demons will open their playoff run on October 19, traveling to Eldridge for a match against the North Scott Lancers (5-16 overall).

North Scott, a member of the Mississippi Athletic Conference, has won five of their 21 matches so far this season. Hannah Moeller entered the week as the Lancers’ top offensive player, leading the squad with 102 kills and 26 aces. Casey Lewis has assisted on a team-best 195 points, while Alex Dillion leads the group with 112 digs.

Washington lost their latest match versus the Mount Pleasant Panthers (15-11 overall) last night in four sets (25-18, 15-25, 19-25, 20-25). The Demons continue regular season play this Saturday, hosting the Demon Volleyball Classic at Washington High School. Teams set to compete in the event include: Tri-County, Iowa City Regina, Iowa Mennonite School, Keota, Sigourney, Wapello, and Wilton.
