2015 lighted parade – photos by Sally Y. Hart

The 22nd Annual Lighted Holiday Parade will be held in Washington tonight. Anyone in the community is welcome to be in the parade – businesses, organizations or families. KCII’s Big Red Radio will be there. Sarah Grunewaldt, director of Main Street Washington, says, “It’s a fun thing, you get to do something different.” Last year there were about 25 entries and this year she’s hoping to see more this year.

Floats are welcome or a group may walk the parade route. You can register to be in the parade when you line up at 6 p.m. on West Washington Street. Each entry must have lights and cannot have Santa Claus. You cannot throw candy, but may hand it out. The parade starts at 7 p.m. following the lighting ceremony in the square.
