A 2015 graduate of Washington Community Schools completed his first college football season in northwest Missouri over the weekend. Thomas Bump, a redshirt freshman, made the two-deep roster for Missouri Western State University Griffons this fall as a reserve linebacker. He posted six total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks in five games played.

Missouri Western’s season came to an end last Saturday. Missouri Western lost to their rivals, No. 1 Northwest Missouri State University, 44-3. The setback concluded the Griffons’ season at 4-7 overall. Bump said his favorite moment from his freshman season was his second career sack he recorded week two versus Missouri Southern. His eight-yard sack was one of three total tackles recorded in Missouri Western’s 51-14 victory.
