The junior college volleyball career of Sigourney alumna Jordan Carter came to a close last week. The Marshalltown Community College (MCC) Tigers competed in two matches at the National Junior College Athletic Association’s District J tournament on November 4 in Council Bluffs. The Tigers were swept in their initial match-up with Indian Hills Community College (18-25, 9-25, 20-25). MCC lost a four-set match to Vincennes University in the consolation bracket (18-25, 22-25, 25-20, 22-25). The Tigers finished the season with a 12-22 record.

Carter, a 2015 Sigourney graduate, was an outside hitter for MCC this fall. She ranked second on the team with 325 kills and her 391 digs was third most. Carter earned Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Player of the Week honors twice during her volleyball career and finished her two-year stint at MCC with 594 kills and 653 digs.
