A Washington alum is gearing up for the final three games of his sophomore football season at the University of South Dakota (USD). Alex Coker, a 2014 Demon grad, has played in all eight games this season for the Coyotes at outside linebacker. USD has won half of their contests.

Coker is one of eight players for USD with 40 or more total tackles and one fumble recovery. His five tackles for loss are tied for the fourth-most on the squad. His best statistical game came on September 17 against the University of North Dakota. He recorded seven total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks in a 47-44 overtime loss. Coker tallied 12 total tackles as a reserve linebacker last year.

Coker and the Coyotes are in Illinois today, visiting the Southern Illinois Salukis (2-6) in a Missouri Valley Conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Saluki Stadium in Carbondale, Illinois.
