This Thursday is the final Thursday in November, which means it is Thanksgiving. Many offices and businesses will be closed in observation of the holiday. Banks will be closed Thursday and the United States Postal Service will not deliver mail. The Washington County Mini Bus will be closed Thursday and will have limited hours Friday, patrons must call by 2 p.m. Wednesday to schedule a ride for Friday. Washington County offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Also, the Washington Public Library will be closed Thursday and Friday this week.

However, downtown Washington will be busy on Saturday with Main Street Washington’s Holiday Blitz. Saturday will start with Breakfast with Santa from 8 to 10:30 a.m., the Jingle Bell Run will start at 9 a.m., Santa’s House opens at 1 p.m., live reindeer and a camel will be downtown from 2 to 4 p.m., carolers will sing from 5 to 6 p.m. and the live radio play will start at 6 p.m. at the library. Horse drawn hay rack rides will also be held and the annual lighted parade begins at 7 p.m. In addition, Saturday is Small Business Saturday.
