Several Mid-Prairie football players finished near the top of the leader board for class 2A district five.

Mid-Prairie’s Ricky Vargas was the leading rusher in district play, racking up 1,304 yards and 20 touchdowns on 173 carries. He finished second with 1,329 total yards, second in scoring with 126 points, sixth in tackles with 51, and third in interceptions with three.

Junior Keaton Duwa was ninth in the district in rushing with 629 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was number one in yards per carry, averaging more than nine. He was seventh in points scored with 62. Duwa’s two fumble recoveries were second most in district play, and his 31 yard kickoff return average was second best.

Mid-Prairie Senior Carter Reinier was third with three interceptions.

The Golden Hawks ended the year with a 5-4 overall record.
