The Highland Huskies volleyball team (22-12) hit the 20-win mark for a second straight season under head coach Chris Rath. The Huskies ended the season with 22 wins, the most recorded since the 2007 season (27-7). Highland finished third in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North (SEISC) standings, winning six of their eight league matches.

Aly Stokes assumed a bigger offensive role in her second varsity season. Stokes, KCII’s Hedge Above Lawncare Athlete of the Week on September 21, tallied a team-high 170 kills. Sixty-eight more than she tallied her freshman season. She recorded the sixth most kills in the SEISC North. ]A pair of Huskies facilitated on more than 185 points. Murphy Beinhart topped the team with 209 assists, while Amy Schnoebelen posted 186. Kelsey Hora ranked third in the league with 335 digs. Hora also topped the Huskies’ squad with 38 aces.

Highland volleyball saw their season end on October 24, losing in straight sets to No. 8 North Cedar (14-25, 10-25, 11-25). The Huskies finish with a 22-12 overall record, a two-win improvement from last season. Highland will lose Hora and Schnoebelen to graduation.
