Residents of Washington will be asked income questions by a contractor so the City can apply for a $600,000 grant. The contractor will begin working this Saturday, going house to house, to conduct the survey and it’s expected to take several weekends between now and December 23rd to do the work. If a high enough percentage of residents are found to meet low to moderate income guidelines then the city may apply for a $600,000 federal Community Development Block Grant. No personal information is collected. Residents are encouraged to cooperate. Any questions should be directed to City Hall.
