A donation to the Washington County Sheriff’s K-9 fund was acknowledged by the Washington County Board of Supervisors at their recent meeting. Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer announced $50 was donated by Indian Creek Farm and Florist LLC of Washington.

The sheriff’s office has two K-9 officers, Drako and Basco. They began working for the department in July 2015 and in their first six months on the job they found over 200 grams of methamphetamine, 820 grams of marijuana and assisted in 17 felony cases. The two dogs are trained for drug investigations and search and rescue cases.
